  • 1.  CashNet Credit Card Refund Exceptions

    Posted 06-10-2021 06:00 PM
    Hello everyone,

Looking for a PeopleSoft School using CashNet for credit card refunds. I am looking to see how other schools work around the real-time exceptions (rejection) of credit card refunds. Are most people reversing the item and reposting as a paper check?

    Any insight would be helpful.

That is what we do at BYU.  If the credit card refund is rejected for any reason (usually purged card information), then we reverse the credit card refund entry in PeopleSoft and reprocess the refund.  Our default refund method is direct deposit, so if the student has authorized direct deposit refunding, it goes out that way.  If no direct deposit is authorized, then  a paper check is mailed to them.

    I hope that helps.

    Sincerely,
