Community Engagement and Scholarship CoordinatorUCIS-Office of the Director - Pennsylvania-Pittsburgh - (21007129)The Community Engagement & Scholarship Coordinator is responsible for planning, administering and attending all annually sponsored Nationality Rooms Program Events; coordinating all Committee fundraisers and programming; attending special meetings of all Nationality Rooms and Cultural Committees when requested; scheduling and attending NRIEP Council Meetings held three times a year; advising all Committees on the operating guidelines and bylaws of the Nationality Rooms Program; liaising with local and global community organizations to advance the educational & cultural outreach goals of the NRIEP.Serves as manager and advisor of the NRIEP scholarships, post-graduate fellowships and faculty grants. Administers all aspects of each award competition (pre-award and post-award). Works with the Director on recommending which scholarships, fellowships and grants can be offered and contacts Committees for their review. Responsibilities include: coordinating with Office of Financial Aid to activate online scholarship application process via PittFund$Me; creating and coordinating publicity materials; attending student information fairs and open houses to promote scholarships; hosting scholarship information sessions from early September until late January; advising and meeting with students individually when needed, evaluating submissions (graduate and undergraduates); coordinating and participating in the scholarship selection panels; organizes Orientation/Awards Presentations and Debriefing of scholarship recipients; overseeing the application, review, award and engagement process for fellowships and grantsServes as the main contact for the NRP website – works and coordinates with UCIS colleagues on website design/communications, appearance and content displayTwo years of supervisory experience preferred. Experience in event management and scholarship administration at a university. Cultural sensitivity/interest in international studies.
Administrative Assistant - NRIEPUCIS-Office of the Director - Pennsylvania-Pittsburgh - (21007130)The Nationality Rooms Program at the University of Pittsburgh is seeking a full-time Administrative Assistant. The Nationality Rooms are classrooms that represent the cultures of ethnic groups who have settled in Western Pennsylvania. The position provides administrative support to the Director, Scholarship/Program Coordinator, and Financial Administrator along with sharing duties with the Assistant to the Director.Duties include: answering the phone and directing calls to appropriate staff; greeting visitors to the administrative office; preparing and tracking cash reports for departmental deposits as well as processing donations and tracking information on donor lists; ordering supplies and processing expense reports and invoices; assisting with the scheduling, promotions, and coordination of special events and meetings; assisting on the day of an event with set-up, clean- up, and ensuring that the event runs smoothly; assisting with the coordination of the scholarship process (from the application process to the post-award reporting and events) including editing flyers, and letters; facilitating review and collection of scholarship applications via PittFund$Me software; and assisting in organizing orientation and debriefing; following up and sending reminder e-mails to scholarship recipients on their obligationsThe incumbent requires excellent interpersonal skills and willingness to work independently or as part of a team as the work dictates, along with the ability to multi-task, to be accurate and detail- oriented, and to maintain confidentiality.Study/living abroad experience and language skills preferable, but are not necessary.
