Hi Ron,
I am checking out your thread because our board and Advancement Office has asked us to look into using Venmo. Our initial reaction is "No" for the reasons of lack of CRM information and the aspect the single user of the application has our auditors saying no, not to mention the burden of adding yet another layer to monthly bank reconciliations.
Am I correct in assuming that the reason you were using Paypal is for donor ease? That is the big push from our Advancement Office and Board, to be able to engage the young alumni and current students. Our suggestion was to look to the payment processor to see if you could enable the use of smart wallets. I know we use Stripe for the donation form on our website and it does have the ability to work with Smart wallets (Apple Pay, Google Pay, ect). We are hoping by turning that on it will appease the crowd. If you use Cash Net, I have heard from one school that there is the ability to use Smart Wallets and Venmo through CashNet.

Subject: Alternative to PayPal
Good Morning,
We are having issues with PayPal and thinking of changing to some other platform. We use PayPal for receiving deposits at our Admission office, sell tickets and also we use for our fund raising efforts. Is anyone using something different than PayPal that is more user friendly? If you can share some information with me I would really appreciate it.
Thanks
